In Memory of Claire Herlihy
Thank You

Claire (Jones) Herlihy, 63, owner of Frame It Studio & Gallery, died Oct. 24 at her home in The Pinehills after a brief bout with cancer.

She was on the Foundation Board of Milton Hospital, the Board of Directors of the Milton Chamber of Commerce and involved in many organizations. She was a member of the Board Forum, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce where she was a past director, the Women’s Business Connection, the Duxbury Art Association, the Milton Art Association and Milton Garden Club. She was involved in founding the Milton Art Museum.

She was committed to supporting local artists. Her shop held many receptions, art shows and other events to draw an audience for the work of artists of all sorts.

Earlier this year she sponsored a book signing for her friend Maggie Melanson who authored “Fly Fit.” The day after her death, her shop went ahead with a reception for Myrna Friedman’s paintings The Vitality of Life.

She was a strong supporter of the art program at Milton High School and provided the school system with advice and materials. She showcased the work of the best high school artists annually.
